I usually use white for piecing blocks. It doesn't show in the finished block.

Queenbarbiej, most try to pick a thread that shows up the least once pressed. That being said, many don’t like changing thread out frequently. I generally use a light to mid grey for most piecing. It tends to blend with most fabrics, but sometimes it’ll be necessary to change to suit your fabrics. For example, I’d use a dark grey with blacks just so I can see the line I’ve sewn more easily. My eyes aren’t what they used to be and the dark grey will blend well. If I’m sewing black and white together, once again I’d pick a mid grey (most likely) for blending’s sake. If you stitch a seam and it’s very noticeable once you’ve opened and pressed it, consider a different color.

Wow, way to go Sewbiz!! Beautiful blocks.
Zozee, I usually use a cream or grey thread for my blocks. A blender works fine for me. That being said, here's my block for you. It started out as Sukie's Choice, but I had to change the corner units for lack of enough of your focus fabric. Then I switched the top and bottom rows because I liked it so much better that way. I really like this block, I hope you do.

Edited to ask: Notice that stretched star in the middle? You know I love stars. Once I noticed that, it had to be changed. LOL

Libster, I love your block for me!! So creative! I’m not sure what you mean be a stretched star that had to be changed?

I like the optical illusion here. Star within a star , but that’s not all. When I step back and look at the design, I see a plump mother fox on her hind legs, hands on hips, as if asking her kits, “Who ate my egg sandwich while I was outside?” Lol

That description was so specific I had to go back and look again, yes I can see the "mother fox" but would never have come up w/ it on my own. lol lol lol
