LOL. The thought of ER nurses de-stressing with it is pretty funny. What is the game called anyway?

Love your blocks, NZ! That teacup is too darling. The handle looks perfect.

What was that paper gadget called? We made some many of them in grade school but I can't remember what we called them.

I have only heard it called finger paper game, or paper fortune teller game.

NZ great blocks, mine is perfect. Thanks so much.

do you remember that game where you wrapped a string around your fingers and wove it in and out then someone would somehow remove it to their hands. One game was called cats cradle. My granddaughter and daughter were playing it the other day haven’t seen it in years

Ah, yes. Another game that was a staple of childhood! Also Chinese Jump rope... that stretchy band that two people held between their 4 ankles and a third person "played" by crossing and jumping the jump rope.

We didn't need video games and cell phones to entertain ourselves! We were a lucky generation.

Just remembered another... the hand slapping game where you sang a song and slapped hands and made hand movements in rhythm. We used to play that game while waiting at the bus stop before school.

Yes and all kinds of other shapes, some you could do by yourself and others you needed a partner or a helper

Chinese jump rope...loved it! Also remembering a game called 7-up that you could play by yourself, using a ball that you could throw against the wall in a series of 7 different plays.

I'll have to look it up. I haven't heard of any of the games listed here.

Thanks for the nice comments on my blocks, ladies. Zozee, I raw edged appliqued the cup handle -- I could never make a curved seam that smooth!

ETA Just Google 'finger paper game'; Now I know what you're talking about! (Light bulb moment!) I recognize it now but never knew it had a name.

You are our youngster, NZ... that's why you may not have played these games.

Don't forget hopscotch! With just a hunk of chalk and a pebble, you can play all day.

Rock, Paper, Scissors... all you need is a friend to play with.
