Saw a live weather report from Minneapolis this morning. There was snow on the ground, and the reporter was disappointed that it wasn't snowing right then for a good picture. Apparently he doesn't live there.

We only got about an inch last night and it will probably melt today. Best wishes for all of you dealing with the "bomb cyclone."

Good morning, Laters! Well, I'm about ready to ship Sooners so it's a good time to remind everyone that blocks are due in my hands four weeks from today, Thursday, May 8. Keep that date in mind please. No rush to finish early but please do not be late!

Most of you have finished up but there are 6 of us who have more to to. I've received block packages from 11 people and one more is arriving today or tomorrow. Woo hoo! Those of you who have finished and haven't shipped, please go ahead and do so if the opportunity arises. I'm going to start sorting out the Later blocks in a few days once Sooner ships so I'll have a head start on it.

Bibliostone, haven't heard from you this month...is everything ok? Please check in with us. Thank you!

Finally, if you are in Sooner as well, please check in over there. I want to ship tomorrow and I'd like to hear from you that you are ready to receive the blocks. I wouldn't normally request confirmation but this will be a week early and I don't want to ship if you aren't aware of it. Block would begin arriving on Monday.

Can't believe the snow some of you are getting! Here it's very warm (had the A/C on in the house and car) and just beautiful outside, with Spring flowers blooming. Hard to believe there is an arctic blast just a few states north of us. Hope it's your last one til next winter.

It's just plain stubbornness keeping me from turning on the a/c. It always feels like once you turn it on, it doesn't go off until Sept.

So....thinking about next boom I’ve had a couple of ideas. One idea is to send everyone various patriotic fat 1/8ths and do a red, white, blue quilt. Or

i could send out this fabric. You could match any color you see in there with a solid or tone on tone do whatever you want.

What do do you guys think?

I love that bird and star fabric, Pamela.

If you are ambitious, join both groups and send patriotic fabric to one, and the bird fabric to the other.

I like the bird fabric as well. It would be a very colorful quilt! Selfishly, I’ve got a new bunch of tone on tones I could try out! But a r/w/b patriotic quilt is also a fine idea. I see Stars! SBG has an interesting suggestion below but my recommending that would be a bit self-serving. Lol. I think you should go with your choice. .

Pamela that fabric is gorgeous! It has such a range of colors that will make a rainbow effect in the quilt, what a great idea!

Thank you Marcia Lee and Mrs Merkle. Those are beautiful blocks. The pink reminds me of the beautiful wild flowers we’ve been seeing on our trip.

ive got almost all the remaining blocks cut out except Jaynes. It will be a mad rush to finish when I get back!
