Sunrise isn’t for another 20 minutes. Am sitting outside with a cup of yesterday’s iced coffee listening to the birds chirp and sing and I’m just able to see a rabbit and a chipmunk foraging. What a wonderful start to the day! I’m about to head inside and work on my 9 patches. They’re leftover from last year. They’re almost a top - in 9 pieces anyway. I’m setting them up to QAYG but to do it blind on the front. I know in theory how to do it. This will be my first attempt. What are you all working on?

I'm making nursing pads for all three of my new mothers and a qayg crib sized baby quilt made with some blocks made from my Later fabric. I have one row of the quilt already put together, then I got a request to please make more of the nursing pads. Sooo, I have three dozen sets cut with one dozen sets already sewn. Good thing they go so quick!
I'm always up early because I love sunrises!

Thank you Klaws for my beautiful block! Looking forward to seeing all the blocks in person ![Smile](https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/smile.png)
It was an early rise & shine morning here, too. Beautiful time of year when we're surrounded by so much green - all the trees, shrubs and flowers look so fresh & vibrant with their early season growth and color! Here are a few of my flowers.. Azaleas, Iris and Wine & Roses..

Beautiful flowers. Lilacs are budding here
Have been working on 6” paper pieced blocks for a monthly rainbow swap and scrap blocks for another online group that we swap once a year for about 20 years now. Doing them to avoid starting on my name tags for June retreat.

Yes, the pink are a Weigela called "Wine & Roses" and the yellow is an azalea hybrid called "My Mary" and it has my entire front porch smelling so very sweet (from 15 feet away, too). You mentioned shade plants which I am always on the hunt for as our home faces NE - the azalea is doing well there with just early morning sun. Unfortunately, it only shows off for a few weeks during spring then it's 'just another shrub' for the rest of the season.

Love the flower pics. My sister and I are heading to the Netherlands today to visit the tulip fields. It is raining there this week so I hope they do not get smashed down.
My fabric for the next boom is leftover fabric from the back of a quilt I made for her several years ago. It also has a southwestern feel to it. It is brighter than it appears in this photo.
