Spent a week with our 5yr old and watched her graduate PreK. What a joy to spend quality time with them - as I can see many of you already know.
I am glad I didn't bring much sewing with me - as my brother still can not drive so I am back to being Mom's caregiver. she is only 15 minutes away from where we are parked so not too bad. We have been talking about what she wants to do when she can not take care of her home by herself (which is coming up fast) and this summer will be the deciding time.
But life continues and I will enjoy each moment with my family
    Blessings to all of you

Oh, what a cutie she is! I love, love, love her dress. Don't our littles do something special to our hearts?

What a gorgeous little girl! Love the flowers in her hair, too. Was that a special dress and headpiece for her pre-K graduation? Glad you got to spend some time with her.

    We are so blessed!

Here are my grandsons. They are so sweet. Hendrix is the best baby. So calm. Hyde was premature so my DIL is loving the experience this time.

Hyde is my son's twin and Hendrix looks like his maternal grandpa.

Each month when my DIL does Hendrix's pictures, Hyde wants his too.

TG, your granddaughter is exquisitely pretty. THe kind of face you just know will become a stunning young woman. Her flowers and dress and her smile just are the most beautiful trio. I hope you have a productive and meaningful time figuring out future decisions with your mom. I am going through that with my dad. Yesterday we visited an assisted living home that is a beaufiul Victorian mansion of only 12 residents and it's run by a lovely couple. My dad is nowhere near the level of care of those folks, but he's scouting his options.

Hav4, your grandsons are so stinkin' cute. Hyde's curly blonde hair and wriggled up nose--bet he's got a personality that's fun and bright.

    These belong to my sisters.

GramE, love your labyrinth quilt, looks like one piece of material. Fantastic job.

Kass, I'm blown away with your talent. Creating your own fabric designs are awesome.

I have all my fabric bagged, labeled and ready to be packaged up to mail.

On losing a loved one, I lost my 12 year old son 13 years ago and I still have those days where I don't want to function. Usually around his birthday. I had a melt down with the UPS driver about 4 months after Justin passed. So embarrassing, and he is still working our route. If I am outside, he will stop and ask how I doing.

You will have those days, Janice. You take them as they come. It does get a little better. Father's day was the first without my dad, I cried and then I spent the day sewing summer goodies for the kids in the picture above. This brightened my day. Janice, I wish you peace and a HUG.

LStew, I am so sorry about the loss of your precious son. Was he sick or did he die suddenly (if you feel like talking about it; if not, I understand). I can't fathom that kind of pain. Your UPS driver got to see a side of a grieving mother that I'm sure he's never forgotten--which is good, not bad. We sometimes just don't know what to do with the raw pain of separation from one we loved with every fiber of our being. I'm also sorry about your dad. I absolutely dread the day I also lose my dad. Not a day goes by I don't give it a thought , so I don't take him for granted.

Your sister's kids are really cute and they must bring you special joy.

Ltsew I am so sorry you lost your son. I can’t even imagine your pain, a parent’s worse nightmare. So glad you have your nieces and nephew to love on.

You know, we're just having a good ole' family reunion here and I'm loving seeing all the precious faces and learning about all of my Boom sisters and their families. Life is good even with the lost ones and the pain. Family helps us all get through it. ((((((Hugs)))))) for us all.

Wonderful pics, all! What a beautiful way to spend our down time.

Lstew so sorry for your loss, even now my heart hurts for you.

I remember 20+ years ago weeks after my father had died, I was taken back in a KMart store because I was sure I had seen him. Took some grieving time again to get over that. It wasn’t even a place he would have been but my eyes told my heart it was him. Those are the hard parts of grief, those that blindside you.

But we grieve because we love. I wouldn’t want to stop loving to avoid grief. ❤️
