Love this block, Terriamn. And see, I'd have never have thought about making two hsts with the grey. Wow, I have got to get out of my secure little box! Great job.

Libster, believe me, I get plenty out of the camaraderie, chatting, beautiful blocks, new ideas, friendship, etc. Your gifts are icing on the cake. They are charming and appreciated.

Hav, so happy to hear DIL is home, now I hope she can begin to enjoy her new baby. Must have been stressful while she was stuck at the hospital.

MJP your block is wonderful! I love the polka dots and btw I never ride a horse that isn't galloping! I would have suggested you simply stitch that cut together and keep on going When all of these gorgeous blocks are put together who will ever know the difference? (I say that regarding blocks made for me but would never do that for blocks I make for others!)

Thank you so very much - I love it and am looking forward to seeing this crazy Kaffe come together! I am not in both BOOM groups, just this one.

Meanwhile I’m plodding along. Mrs. Merkle this one is for you. Can you say Kluge? I finished the block, including ironing and sewing on the raw edge applique, and I discovered one of the blades had a cut in the middle. I took that blade out and replaced it. My husband couldn’t find which blade it was but my son could. One of our families favorite sayings is “it’ll never be noticed on a galloping horse and that’s the only kind I ride”. My husband told me that horse isn’t even trotting. I’ll probably make a second block for you. I fussy cut all the good stuff but I have similar Kaffe fabric I can use. Are you in both booms?

I had to get another cup of coffee just to admire this next beautiful block - thank you so much Bibliostone! While the photo may appear flourescent it's clear that it all matches perfectly to the Kaffe fabric. I am so thankful for another fabulous block!

The pink I used is the same as what is in the fabric. This block is called Lily Patch.

My apologies to NanaKathy. I posted your block NK but don't think I acknowledged it. Thank you!

Here's my block for Marcialee. It's an Aunt Eliza's star. The rows on this one are put together on the diagonal, always a challenge for me. Well...no exception this time as I almost went super nova on this one. Had to baste it together repeatedly to get it right. It would have been better (easier!) had I not attempted to keep the corners going in the same direction. Finally, I gave up on the quarter square triangles and just went with it. And, I must admit, it does not come up to exactly 12 1/2 inches square but it's as close as I could reasonably get after many tries. It's pretty darn close. Here she is, Aunt Eliza's star aka Janice's Super Nova:

Edited to add: Marcialee, your fabric held up extremely well to repeated stitchings and frogging. I loved it and wouldn't have been able to fix it as well as i did had you not chosen a sturdy (and pretty!) fabric. Thank you!!!

TG, I feel your pain about tough blocks. Jayne's turned out very well though.

PamelaOry, pretty blocks, especially like the yankee puzzle pattern for Hav.

JayneW block should have been so easy - but I couldn't seem to sew a straight line and it ended up short. Its perfectly 12.5" now! I love the optical illusions in this block - and hope it goes with your stained glass look.
Darcyshannon, the purple with MJP's fabric was a fine choice. Pretty and colorful block.

OK, I'm caught up, for now. That bluebird is at it for the third day in a row. Now he's hitting his image in all the windows. All of them on the back of the house. He stops when the sun moves around to the back and brightens the interior of the house. Hurry up sun!

Hope you all have a fine day!

When I have a tough match like that I use a little bit of elmer's stick glue. I line up my two pieces like they are to be sewn, hold a straight edge usually any handy ruler, on the sew line of the seam, open them enough so I can see if they match or not, and when they do I put a tiny dab of the stick glue in the seam allowance (then set it w/ a hot iron). I do that in a couple of key matching points the length of the seam. That way nothing shifts w/ pinning or no pin distortion
