one item to be aware of, the blocks sewn as teh instuctions state end up being more around 12" UF instead of 12.5"

I've heard that from many people and found it happening for me to. It's probably because when you sew the sections together on the lines, you are getting a full 1/4" seam or even a bit more. I've gotten so I always remove the papers before I join sections. I leave the side that will be on the "outside" of the block long, and trim the seam sides of the wedges a bit wider than teh cutting lines. Then I sew like normal with my scant 1/4" and I end up with much better results. By leaving the outer edge untrimmed, after the 8 wedges are sewn together I've got extra on the outer side and can trim the block to what I need.

I've made all 50 of the blocks, but have not assembled them. One of my longer term UFO's at this point.

Here is a block I made for myself. This is the "participation" block and I've used scraps of fabric from all the blocks made. I had a lot of triangle cut off pieces so this worked very well.

Macybaby thanks for the tip on The Star block.

Your participation block is great, the gold goes with all the fabrics

Bill is home and doing pretty good. Sleepy today, the next two days will probably be the toughest, we'll see tomorrow. He'll be sleeping in the recliner for a few nights. Soup on the menu for dinner

Morning, EB's. Yesterday was so busy I didn't really spend any time on the swap or blocks. I've got 2 partially sewn blocks on my wall and a few sections of a third cut out but I probably won't get to them until next week.

Macybaby, I love this idea. Pretty block!

This photo isn’t great but here’s my block for Queenbarbiej. QBJ, I love your fabric and I paired it with a pale blue tonal, not as pale as it appears. I hope it will work with your other blocks.
