Boom 23, Night Owls 3 month group
#1231
Love my blocks ladies. Actually, all the blocks for this boom have been great. Hopefully, I will get back to sewing blocks soon. On Wednesday, my husband is having his hip replaced so once he is home, I'll kind of have to stay home too for awhile. That will give me plenty of time to finish by the end of the month.
I am glad Cricket and her baby are still together.

Beautiful array of blocks Marija, love the block you made for me!
Kass, great picture of Cricket wearing her new outfit! Happy to hear that the chick she raised is doing great.
Hopefully tomorrow we will have some cooler air. It's been in the upper 90's and breaking records everyday and there hasn't been rain in over a month. It's too hot to even sit on the beach!

I thought I'd show what I've been working on the past few months. This is the quilt that will be auctioned off at my church dinner/auction this Saturday. I thought it turned out really nice.

Hello Ladies! I have been so very busy this summer - and look periodically when have a chance at your amazing blocks. I do so miss you all and playing with your fabric. I have looked at what has been sent and wondered just what pattern I would pick for each - and yet it isn't until one touches it that one can decided.
The summer was extremely busy on Long Island. Mom stayed at her house, and we stayed in our home on wheels about 3 miles from her. Children, Grandchildren and family visited. Quality time with grands as they stayed with us. I had plenty of beach time with them and friends. Many wonderful memories were made.
Sew missed my sewing machine. I did take out the one left at my mothers to make blocks for Janice, but it must have been dropped and needle would not move to center. Very difficult in making making scant 1/4"! And that was it for the entire time away. Missed it, but had no down time to sew anyway!
Kass, didn't get to stop this trip, maybe next year. However I did get to Marshalls Dry Goods in AK. Thankfully I had a list of my basics that I wanted (whites, grays) and then found a couple of bolts I couldn't live without!
So my machines have been purring since we returned to AZ. My mother has moved back in already and will be here for 8 months. Already missing my quiet coffee time in the morning, but so glad to have her here.
Will keep an I out for next Boom (there will be a next one, right??)
Enjoy the day

Hi, TravelingGramma. Great to catch up with your summer. Thanks for going above board in making Janice's block for her quilt. I just hope she feels the love and care we all had and have for her through her difficult time. There's a hug, Janice, behind every single one of those 31 blocks! Every time you feel down, collect one.
I've already got my fabrics for the next Boom for whenever it's announced.

TG, good to hear from you again. Glad you made it safely home. It's enough of a struggle to get the quarter inch seam without the problems you had on the block you made for me. I love that quilt! It's kind of on display near the front door, hanging over the railing, so that anyone coming in can see how lovely my quilty friends are as well as how pretty the quilt is. And yes, there will be another Boom but probably not until after the first of the year. The next few months are going to be very full and I know I wont have the time for the Booms until next year.
Beautiful, Klaws! BTW, I mentioned that I had a Chloe cat, too, but we may have a Chloe grand. Chloe is the name at the top of the girl's name list currently. Every time I hear the name I think cats! LOL.

And we had a beautiful dog named Chloe. She was a Bouvier des Flanders. Chloe is a sweet name for a little girl, too.
Pretty quilt, Klaws. I hope it brings lots of money in the church auction.
TravelingGRandma, nice to hear what you've been doing. Sounds like life has been very busy for you.
