I can pretty much sum up what I sent...please use white or white on white with my fabric along with the green fabric that was included, no other colors please.

I am curious, have color requests gotten more specific over time (since boom 1) or has it mostly stayed the same?

This is the note I included with my 'dish' fabric:

With this fabric I will make a quilt for a woman. Please select solids or semi-solids (no prints) in the colors you see in the fabric. NO white, please. I am looking for contrast… Thanks so much!

With my 'surfer' fabric I included this note:

I am making a quilt for a young man/teenage boy. Please use solids or semi-solids in the colors found in the print, Except for the light blue background color. I am looking for contrast. Thanks.

In both notes I asked everyone to match contrasting colors in the print, rather than introduce new colors.

    Thank you, Janice.

Here is my first block for Jaba. The most precise piecing I’ve ever accomplished. A miraculous ( for me) occurrence. Alas my photo skills aren’t as good. Marika the tan fabric is fabric you gave me.

But the best part for me is how the back turned out. I was able to do that swirly thing in the middle. This is much better than other times when I had to resort to banging the middle with a hammer. (Don’t worry no boom blocks were hammered)

    Here is what I sent:

*****No Gold, No Additional Red*********** Please use any color in the focus fabric except gold. This includes all sorts of lavendars, all sorts of blues, white, Please use the supplementary red fabric if you can. I’d love a touch of red in each block. Solids or Tone on tone that reads like solids. Thanks for Swapping with me.I can’t wait to get my hands on your fabric!!!! I love booms.

What I’d like to do is have everyone post their requests here, even if you’ve had no issues.

Before the next round (early next year) I’m going to try to figure out how to avoid the color problems and I will ask for everyone’s input. But for now, please post your requests, exactly as you sent them, and let’s see if we can get this under control. I’m not looking for complaints, only information so let’s keep this helpful and positive. Thank you, Night Owls!
I think the requests are pretty clear. Once people have to redo a block they will start reading more carefully. The boomers are the best. They want to make blocks that their fellow boomers will love. No need to make more work for yourself Janice. This is just an oddball boom. The system has worked for booms many times. We appreciate you Janice. You're always trying to improve things. If you come up with something you like better I'll be happy to follow it. I know its been a lot of work for you!

Marika and I both have a question for Kassaundra: Are you going to applique the frogs onto our blocks? If so I want to make a block with lilypads so the frogs have a place to land. Hee hee

Uggghh - I accidentally erased (or never saved!) my file with the instructions on it. Even though I had different Christmas fabrics everyone received the same message -- If someone can retype it from the one sent I would appreciate it! I don't remember giving many restrictions -- just to keep it in the burgundy / dark green / ivory family. (instead of Christmas red/green/white) Thx!
