If you're using a new pattern, it's a good idea to make a test block out of your own fabric first, to make sure it goes as planned, before cutting into someone's F8. As a bonus, this gives you an extra block for your own quilt.

Boom blocks aren't signed (at least they never have been, as long as I've been doing the QB Boom swaps). You just put a note in the baggie with the finished block, showing who it's for and your board ID so they'll know who made it. I like to put the pattern name, too, when possible.

    ....

Glad to hear that others liked my tote bag idea! I thought it would be a fun change.

Julia, no we don’t sign blocks in this swap.

I agree about following the instructions in the notes. Keep the note with the fabric and review it before you start.

Another tip: Others may do this differently, but I prefer to open only one baggie at a time. I finish that block before moving on to the next baggie. That way I'm less likely to mix up the F8s.

At what time does a night owl become an early bird? If i’m not watching the clock I become an accidental night owl but the dogs are definitely early birds!

Been sleeping all day today, had cataract surgery at 7am this morning. And 4 grandsons overnight and here waiting when we got home with a box of Dunkin Donuts! One flew in secretly from NM to surprise his momma on his birthday. His twin drove in from Wright/Pat AFB. The other 2 live close by, one is a Navy recruit and the other a Purdue freshman. I just love sitting back and listening to them chatter. 3 other grands made a token stop to say hi GramE on their way to church. Then my great granddaughter talked to me at the fence when she was walking to take a swim at her grandma’s house! It was a great day for grands.

Mine are ready to mail. Ordered prepaid envelopes today and they should be here next week. So easy for me to use whether we are in Wyoming or Florida.
Finally finished both of Boom 22 quilts yesterday, will take a pic soon and post. Have a blue and white on the quilting table now that is huge, should have had my head examined, it's 112X112. Side to side on my set up.
Doctor in Billings on Tuesday, chemo seems to have done a number on my lungs, lots of damage so now I'm on oxygen 24-7. It's a pain being on this hose but the cancer is gone. I'm going to say that is a big element no matter the result.

GramE, your cup runneth over! So nice that some of the grands live close by... and the others come to visit.

Jaba, I agree the cancer being gone is the most important thing. They are making the oxygen units better and better... smaller and more convenient.

I can't wait to see the pics of your quilts! 120" square is huge! I'm glad we don't have a bed that big in the house.

Oh what a wonderful thoughtful group of grandsons. You are so blessed and a great-grand daughter right next door.

    Queenbarbiej, love your blocks!

I, like Jaba, am waiting on my envelopes. Can’t wait to get started. Jaba will your lungs continue to improve? Are you at an altitude that makes it harder to breathe? So glad the cancer is gone!

Have 12 grands and a great granddaughter is amazing! So much love. The out of towners are running a Spartan race on Saturday then 7 or 8 are coming here for breakfast on Sunday. So an early start to get 60 cinnamon rolls ready before 9 o’clock. It’s more fun than I could ever have imagined.

Riley’s Birthday is coming and i’ve Just finished her a paper doll quilt. The clothes go in an attached fabric envelope on the back!

Old fabric from 10 years ago. My sister is cleaning out her stash.

    I couldn’t deal with 84 X 84”. I’m a small quilt girl!
