I am working on a hexified quilt from stripe / plaid fabric. (the plaid hasn't been cut or started yet). I should be finishing up my brown / cream boom quilt, but............

anyway here is a progress pic or 2, Calling it "Bow ties are Cool", yes a shameless plug for DW, lol lol lol

These will form the center of the quilt, there will be one more

The background is striped print also, and they are arranged in the hexies for form rectangles.

AnnieQuilts, I got some cigar boxes out to stash my WIP in until Boom 23 is over.

Juliasb, welcome! I hope you will enjoy yourself. As i may have said in my email, the swap (me) is a bit fussy the first time around, getting all the little moving parts (rules) set but ultimately, it's making blocks you are proud of. Once the shipping is out of the way, it's a piece of cake. And there are several new people so far this round who will all be learning the ropes. Don't hesitate to ask any questions because if you have a question, I can guarantee someone else has (or has had) the same one. There are no silly questions at all.

I haven't done a swap like this in many years as life just got in the way of such fun. I love quilting and have been quilting now for more than 30 years. I mostly love patchworking. My stash will long outlive me. This swap is a great way for me to dig into my stash and use it for just what it is supposed to be used for. I have been on the Quilt Board now since 2010 I think? I went inactive a few years ago, as I said life got in the way. I consider myself an intermediate quilter.
I am looking forward to getting to know as many of you as I can. Be patient with me as I learn the ropes of this swap. Who know's I might get it just right the first time around.
Kassaundra...hmmm, repeats huh?... Love the Cricket pix. It's good to see her and the baby looking so healthy.

SuziSew, I've got your email but haven't responded yet. Will try to do so later today but I've got you down on the list for the 3 month. Thanks!

Oh, boy, AQ, do I know the feeling...lurk away!

Libster, thanks for the fabric pic. Am already grabbing the pix and adding them to the gallery. Do you know which fabric is for which group or does it even matter to you?

These are my two fabrics for this Boom.
    Got it!

Janice, let's do the black starry sky for the 2 month and the blue for the 3 month.black

Kass, I'm asking for 1 bright TOT only with the black sky-no pinks please. It's for a young guy.
The blue-anything matching goes. I didn't even specify a background color.

OK, quick update. I did manage my emails already so everyone who has written to me should have received a reply.

As of now, there are 15 people signed up for the 3 month group and one tentative. We have 6 for the 2 month swap. Max for each group is 20.

I'm offline until the weekend. Will reply to emails in a day or two. Have a fun and safe Independence Day!

I might be changing my mind. I have a piece of frog fabric that I love, but the frogs are way to big to do much with, but I only have about a yard of it. I am thinking about sending the blue solid fabric and then using the frog fabric as appliques added to to quilt blocks / sashing / border

Hi all - I'm officially in! This will be my first Boom swap but I have done the Summer swap, two of the RWB, 9 Patch, and Birthday swap. My head is spinning with ideas of which fabric to send and I'm excited to dig in. I've followed some of the other Booms from a distance and they inspired me to buy a book of blocks and it was great fun spreading my wings and using it in the RWB. I will be in the 3 month group -- August gets busy sending the girls back to college, I'll need that extra time!

Currently I am free motion quilting my first queen size quilt made from the 9 patch swap. My goal is to have it done by this weekend for visitors coming next week. That's another reason I like swaps --- I need deadlines otherwise the squirrel in me sees new and bright shiny things to do!

    Happy 4th of July!
