Bugaroo - I really like EQ8. I started with EQ7 and never got the hang of it, but EQ8 was so much easier for me to figure out and now I'm able to design whole quilts with it.

The one part I don't like is that it always figures measurements for triangles point to point. I like to use the "easy angle" method of triangles which is where you cut it without all the points. IE - if you have a HST that is UF at 2.5", you cut the strip for the triangle pieces at 2.5" and then when you subcut, you don't include the top point (that you'd cut off anyway). So I'll sometimes change the lines a bit so that the computer will figure out the size I really want, and not the "point to point" measure.

Lum, that’s definitely your fabric and I put the pic in the gallery under your name. TG’s butterfly fabric is reds, blues and purples I believe.

To make it a 12.5" block I cut my two fabrics at 11". That will give me room to trim down.
That pattern is a little bit different but I'm sure just like others there are several different names for each pattern.

Finished one today and have another one cut out.

Lum I hope you like it, QB suggested doing a square in square for the middle so I cut the blue/purple print square in 1/4s and snowballed your square.

Did another one of Jenny's "madness" blocks. They really are fast and fun... once you practice one!

Bugaroo, Please tell me who each block is for so I can add them to the gallery. Thanks!

Also, for everyone, please shrink your photos to 200 kb or so. With this new thumbnail system, there is another step to grabbing your photos and those I don't have to shrink myself go much faster. Thanks!

Hello! I was able to be fairly productive this weekend and here are a few of the blocks I made. More to come later, as I get pics uploaded. I was so nervous making my very cut, but I learned to relax a little.

Suzisew - this was one turned out to be one of my favorites of the group
hav4boys - I loved working with the bright colors and it called for a kind of modern log cabin feel.
marija - purple is my favorite color, I can't wait to see it when its done.
bibliostone - I attempted to make the shape of a beer glass. you can kind of see it...
