That first block is from my Angle Play Blocks book by Margaret J. Miller and it's called "North Star".

Terri, I was debating about swapping out the 4 big rectangles in that block for the green... and doing the center square in your focus fab. Then the pinwheels will show up better, but there will be less of your fabric in the block. What do you think?

Polkweed, I just looked at the fabrics I recieved today and wondered what to do with the darling portraits I got for Jo and Amy. Your Meg inspired me to keep thinking!!

Sewbiz, You have been busy with all the blocks you've done already! Yes, yes I do like your blocks. I just opened my mail today and looked at each baggie. What fun this is going to be.

Sewbiz, I got my package today. I am not sure what modern blocks look like but I am sure to have some good selections from my stash for each person. The creativity begins starting tomorrow. Finishing my baby I spy quilt first since baby was due in August!

Rebaquilts, I was thinking of using the same pattern with the different fabrics too. Will have to see if that works for my brain and my fabric selections!

Just a friendly reminder that in this swap the choice of block style is always up to the block maker. It's nice when someone asks about preference, but ultimately the maker is free to make whatever style suits them.
