LOVE the Tula fabric and am excited about playing with it.
Anna, SO GLAD to see you returning!
MJP, I'm looking forward to your applique.

Well, I sandwiched (not basted) 12 but several of them were small. I am doing 4 "stroller quilts" for sale and they are only about 20" square. They are good sellers in my daughter's shop. I also had a few that were kids size, or throw size like a Boom quilt. Maybe two were big quilts.

I have a queen bed I use to lay out the backing, batting (from big rolls I buy from Marshall's Dry Goods), and the top. Then I slide one arm under and safety pin the center and about every 10"-12". Nothing fancy and it goes pretty fast. The batting I use helps... it "grips" the fabric somewhat, as long as I use only 100% cotton for the top and back. My quilter is a sit down machine, so I have the big table to lay out the quilt on as I'm quilting it, and I just toss off the safety pins as I come to them. My batting is Marshall's polyester 6 oz.

My fabrics for the boom. The multi floral will be for me. I totally fell in love with it and to tie the blocks together I am sending along a piece of the blue

I love Tula pink and Civil war fabrics. This should be a fun boom

NZ, hope working on the boom squares will help with your depression. How old are the twins now?

Lovely fabric Terri! This Boom will be a fun one with so many pretty fabrics to create with.

I am posting photos of my quilting room upstairs, where I sandwich and quilt. The first pic is the queen bed where I lay out backing, batting and top. You can see my huge roll of Marshall’s batting at the top. (Pardon my doll collection, but I am proud of my 1960 Chatty Cathy!). If you look close you can see how few safety pins I put in the little farm quilt. Then I show my sit down long arm- Juki- with a Barbie quilt in progress on it.
Next is my Christmas Kitties Boom quilt, which I can’t remember if I’ve shown before. Last is a smallish throw quilt that looks like a boom, but isn’t. It’s from a 12” sampler QAL that I started and then dropped out of. I joined the blocks without sashing and then did a large stipple over all. Went fast and I love the texture, just wish I had added some big borders to make it larger.

Great set up sewbizgirl. I think I recognize one of the center blocks on the santa cat quilt.

Sewbiz when I am going to sandwich quilts. Hubby takes the car out of the garage, we set up two lifetime tables, lay the backing down smooth it out and tape to the tables. Next I spray baste the backing and add the batting, continuing to use basting spray until the two layers are totally basted. We do this process in the garage so I have plenty of ventilation. Last I repeat the same process with the top, making sure everything is flat and tight. The set up takes a while so I like to do more than 1 quilt at a time. It is a long and cumbersome process

Love the look of your quilting room, SBG. Do you do your piecing in there too? Nice to have everything all together.
