Awesome block! It reminds me of iris-folding (paper). In fact, iris-folding patterns may work for paper-piecing. Hmmm ...

Yay! My butterfly fabric is washed and cut into F8's. I grabbed it out of the dryer as soon as it was done, so it wasn't wrinkled, but I'll touch it up with an iron before mailing it anyway.

The pins did help ... a BUNCH! I was able to fold 6 yards all by myself without killing my shoulders.

Now. Do I balance the checkbook, or do I test a potential pattern for this swap, to make sure 36 of them are doable? Decisions, decisions.

WOW!!! Fryguymoore, that is one spectacular block. I'll send you more than a fat 8th if you make me one lol.

Seriously, that is one spectacular block, and I just love the color! What is the name of it, and where did you get the pattern?

Very nice block, that looks like the fabric that Salmon had in 2.0.

Hi all! On my way to get my fabric. I'll post a pic later. But I wanted to say that I do not like pink. I know...what kind of woman am I? I just never have liked it. I do like brown with aqua (blues) love wild prints and outdoorsie type stuff. But I will also send a note with my squishies. Lol. I'm soooooo excited!

I looked at the past boomerang swaps to get an idea of what its all about. Wow am I impressed! I only hope I can do as well as everyone else.

    Woo hoo!

    Thanks!

Hoppy-I plan to have 35 blocks to match it at the end of this swap :)

Moonrise-I had to google Iris Folding, and those patterns would definately work for paper piecing this.

I found this pattern on the instructions for Quilt Assistant (a free program to make quilt patterns and print out PP templates.) I didn't use a template, just my ruler.

I hope you decided to make your sample block :-)

I love your butterfly fabric. I like seeing it ahead of time since the planning what to do with it takes me soooooo long.

I, also, have looked at the previous boomerang swaps, but I haven't seen a finished quilt. Could one of you direct me?
