I hope somebody else uses black in the background so it doesn't pop up as much.

Kwiltcrazy, I am glad you liked it.
Your block won't be alone, this is what I sent her :)

I love the blocks you make, this one is especially great.

Hoppyfrog, sorry, I see I missed several of them, I received yours on the 16th of Sept. I also missed Fryguy's. I am very disorganized, since my niece was here, and she straightened up for me, then the retreat, and my sprained wrist. Everything is getting back to normal. Will re-post as soon as I find the others.

Just wanted to make sure it didn't wind up in the postal twilight zone.

I want to turn these blocks into a king size quilt for our bed. Other than sewing all the blocks in rows and columns, or sticking sashing between the rows and columns, what else makes a big quilt look special? 6 blocks X 6 blocks is about a 6' square. Add a border and that is big enough? Add too much between and it drags the floor, creeps off the bed, wanders down the hallway??? How are YOU going to make your blocks into a quilt?

Remember my fabric is the rose, purple, green , gold, beige floral print. I found a complimentary fabric, same pattern only in rows. I bought that thinking it would be sashing. I also bought way too much of the original fabric, so I think I have enough of that for the backing.

    hugs, Jupiter

I took 16 blocks to turn into a throw size for my BFF for her Christmas/birthday gift. I'll use the remainder for another throw later. I'm going to sash mine with a black on black. I think it will look awesome with all of your beautiful blocks!

This has some nice ideas. I like the one in the picture, but those have to be set in. I made a block for purplemem like that, and I loved it.

fryguymore, I love the block for kwiltcrazy. Is it difficult to make?

I will probably make 2 quilts. One is for a friend that loves purple like I do. Her bed is an odd size, somewhere in between twin and queen. I will definetively add sashing but I liked how misswiggles did hers using the same sashing as her main fabric. Looks like the blocks are floating in the quilt. She posted a pic some time ago but I don't remember wich page.

The block is actually pretty easy to make, just time consuming. Someday I will make a tutorial on how to do it without paper piecing.

I loved the floating look too. I am considering using white as my fabric next time to "force" people to make blocks that will appear to float. I proably won't use white though because that wouldn't be a usable quilt in this house!

    What beautiful beautiful blocks!!!

When we do 4 I have a new technique I am going to try on everyone's block (well new to me anyway lol) It makes it look like the main block has a shadow...we shall see when I do my test block if it works out lol

I am not taking official signups yet for 4.0 but I am trying to get a feel of who is interested in it...just post if you are :-)
    Hugs
