I like mailing the blocks as I get the fabric and sending them out when the block is done. I do like the idea of getting mail throughout the swap, rather than in one lump sum.

As for my fat 8th, you can just send the fabric back, please don't stress about making a block.

New2quilting I just want you to know that my prayers are with you at this time, I completely understand your situation. I myself have had some unexpected medical issues that have kept me from meeting the deadline of the swap. I will know my results from my biopsy within the next two weeks at the latest. You have my prayers, for the lord to heal you! I have just contacted a few of the swap partners and sent them there blocks out yesterday and they all were very understanding! May god bless you!
