    MegsAnn
I have found it is better to go with 6 yards just to be safe-especially once you wash and cut the selvage off..sometimes it is easy to get 4 f8s from a half yard and other times I have found I can get 3 comfortably so that would take 6 yards.
Hope this helps. I think you will have an awesome time in this swap-everyone here loves to laugh and have a good time and be friends :-)
MJ...you know leaving those nose prints is no fun for DH to clean!! But I know he loves going to the mailbox for you so a fair trade off I think lol

Yes, My DH mentioned today when he came in from work that no matter the cost, he wanted me to do that "Boomerang thing" cause he loves to bring me happy mail! This was a picture of him yesterday...

purplemem, you are too funny, you and your husband make a good couple, you with your nose on the window, and him with his head stuck in the mailbox. Too funny.

    MegsAnn,

Theoretically, if you have 1 yard of fabric, you should get 8 fat eighths. But April is right, once you wash it and account for shrinkage, it could be a bit less.

Here's my personal experience: I actually bought 10 yards for 2.0 (I will use some of the excess for borders/sashing/cornerstones and/or pillowcases), and this time I bought 14.5 yards of coordinating fabrics, some of which is already earmarked for borders. I will send out a variety of fabrics to everyone, but they will all coordinate with each other. I'll definitely have enough to piece a backing, make a wallhanging to go with the quilt I make, make pillowcases, bags, whatever my little heard desires! Yay! (Hey, when you can get it for $2.49/yard, how can you pass it up???)

Oh, and for everyone from 1.0 and 2.0, who must by now consider me to be the "Paisley Princess", I'll give you all a hint: these fabrics are NOT paisley! I know, right? I'm working outside my favorite comfort zone!

Awesome. Thanks for the info ladies! I looked through the photos from 1.0 and 2.0 today and noticed several people did 2 or 3 sets... instead of just one big 35 block quilt. Hmmm... choices, choices. :^)

    Oh!

I wish I could play... I already have my fabric! I just don't think the fall semester will play along with me.

I'll be watching this one, and will be ready for 4.0
