i actually have two fabrics i want to do that way. the other is going to be a surprise quilt for my bestest friend and the accent fabric i want to send is what she used in her bedroom. let me know if you are comfortable with this idea before i mail out anything. i will most likely be mailing fabric by tuesday of next week. i will work on cutting this week.

no just a small piece of the accent fabric. i havent worked out how small/big that accent piece will be yet. it is just to add to your block in some small way. i do not want to interfere with anyone's block creativity.

How were you thinking of working it out? sending 2 pieces, each 9x11?

Hmmm... not really getting 8 squares out of each yard. More like 6 or 7 with leftover.

I have some that are closer to 10x18.

That won't be a problem, right?

heyjami it should be just fine as most of us have scraps left over. You can try a 9x22 if your fabric has enough length. Mine did not so I had to go with 11x18 this go round.

So glad you like it. It has enough colors in it that everyone should be able to find something to go with it. I haven't got anything in the mail yet!!

I meant to add that it might be a little while before I can start making blocks as I have a graduation quilt to finish by May 20 and a baby quilt to start and finish by June 19. So don't expect anything from me before June 19th. I'll get them done ASAP. I can't wait to start working with ALL the fabulous fabrics I get in the mail! My mail lady is going to wonder what all the squishies are about. This is my first swap. I can't wait.
My mail lady knows all about the swap. If I'm in the post office when someone else comes in, she tells them all about how I mail off little pieces of fabric and get quilt blocks back. When I went in yesterday to buy stamps she was so excited because I was starting up again. (She really needs to get a life)lol But thanks to her almost the whole town knows about it... but if you consider there are only about 1200 people here that's not a lot.
I know what you mean. There are only about 50 people in the town that's closest to where I live and I'm sure they they will know all about it.

Mine was more narrow too - about 40 inches wide, and then had to cut off selvage. I was more generous the other way, so many of mie were 10 x 19 " or 20". I was hoping that would make up for the difference in width.

They aren't making 44" and45" fabric anymore. Or I don't know where to find it!

would anyone mind if I made a siggy block for everyone to sign, and mailed it to you, and asked for your signature on it?

I'd love to make a stripe on the back of my quilt with the names of everyone who contributed!

What a great idea! How are you creating it? I may copy you!

I cut all my F8's and have address labels. I just need to put my sticker on my fabric with my name and stuff 'em.
