In this swap you want to use 100% cotton as this is just standard practice when swapping :)
Still a few days left for signups everyone

I prewashed my selections last night... will take a picture tonight to share soon (I hope).

Work has really ramped up so I can only poke in for 5 mins during the day now.

I picked a bright one for 16 of the F8s, and some sparkly holiday fabric for my other 15-6.

I was thinking about just choosing 1 type of fabric to send but in the other boomerang I want to piece all of the friendship blocks together vs creating 2 quilts (the others coordinate so it's not an issue). This will give me 2 56" square quilts (with sashing and borders).

I think that will work nicely for what I want to do. I can also choose to add to them myself to make a larger quilt.

What is the number of blocks you ladies use for the various size of quilts?

This is also a really nice pattern to follow with the grownup beauties...

i'm working with the idea of 12-16 blocks per quilt but i'm using them as a border around a center that i'll piece.

my centers will be 36 or 48 inches and then i'll put the blocks around it followed by another border or two depending on how big i want the quilt to be.

For the coffee quilt I'll be making about a 56x56 or so, maybe larger with borders (it will have 16 blocks from this Boom :))

For the Elmo Quilt - it'll be set in 4x5, and I haven't decided on a sashing yet - so probably about a twin size by the time I add borders.

The White one (rainbow) will be a large queen to king size by the time I finish up with sashing and borders.

I have a question- if I send a friendship type block with my fabric and ask everyone to sign it - it might make the envelope weigh more coming back is that a problem ?

Sharon - I have sent out a small rail fence block (about 4x4 or so) that people have signed (I send one to each participant) and I'll be making a stripe on the back of my quilts. It doesn't cost more to mail - at least not that I've noticed.

Here's a link to my photobucket where you can see one of the siggies.

Thanks I think I will try and get some made quickly - I was thinking even to add then to the front as a small border
