Well I'm off to a great start. :oops: I cut and sewed up my pieces of my first block only to discover I cut the wrong size. I wasn't aware until it was almost completed. :thumbdown: I'm going to square it up and use it in a sampler some day. I wrote 6 1/2" - but for some reason I cut all my pieces at 6". :-( Time for a break. I think I'm going to go play frisbee with my kids. :thumbup:

I feel you pain! Can't you just add some border to make it a bit bigger?

I was making a rail fence, so one "rail" on each side would be skinny. It's fine for me. I'm a "wing it" sewer. And I'm sure no one will even notice on my quilt. (I'm making a "sampler" of blocks and/or fabrics I like) But I wanted to make a "perfect" block to send out. It won't take long - and THIS time I will measure 6 1/2.

I played frisbee. All is good. 8D

My first block has come from PokerDiva. I am a big fan of Florence. Her work on other swaps is inspiring, and many of her lovely quilts are for charity. Isn't this just beautiful?!
