I have mine bought for the next one already also. It's going to be for Dad and it's RED...boy is it red . He's looking forward to it again so we'll do a big swap again for him.

I love that one too. Bet it is paper pieced, and if I can find the pattern, I am going to try it.

Love your blocks Anastasia perhaps I can borrow a few? only for a little while like 30 yrs then I will give them back, your young you can wait.

Here are my blocks all together for show and tell. I have an ivory/white lace looking fabric to go between them kind of eyelette like.. its going to be very pretty thank you.

Why no block from savannah random? is she not doing well? or did she have to fall out of the exchange?

Happy New Years to everyone early too because I might forget wishing a year of joy. its such a marvelous gift you can give yourself. free too! try a cup see if you dont like it. (no returns on the wish sorry).

Default Caitlan's First Quilt

I had posted Caitlan working on her first quilt. Here is the final out come. She is so proud of herself and her mother sent me the nicest text message thanking me for helping to create such a nice gift for her daughter to give her. Thanks for looking.

Yes ... that is an original, and yes, it's paper pieced. Glad you guys liked it!

I started with a QC block called "snowblossoms" ... set it on point and switched the colors around so that I had the dark/light instead of just white. I had to re-design it in EQ to get the PP pattern. I want to make that block again.

Linda

Love the layout of the blocks ... it's sad though that Sue kinda stands out with the different color background. I wish I had used a WOW for the background.

Sorry I've not looked in on this thread in a while. Been busy with other quilting projects (go figure!).

Update: All blocks received with the exception of Savannah - and I think we are all waiting on her. I hope she's OK ... I see that she was in several swaps but hasn't posted anything to QB since October.

I was in my sewing room starting a new project because the last project I finished which was a lap quilt for ME I decided at the last second was a Christmas gift for a neighbor. Bummmer ... I STILL don't have a quilt of MY OWN and I'm cold darnnit!!

So instead of flogging myself I decided that I wasn't going to wait for a block from Savannah and I would start to put my blocks from the swap together. But first I wanted to check in. Tomorrow I'll have them all up on a wall to see how big it's going to be and what "filler" blocks I need to make (remember ... I had asked for different size blocks).

Off to play with my blocks!!

OK .. here are all of the blocks I received. As it stands the quilt dimensions look to be about 56 x 44 without borders. I need to adjust some around to even it out - but as I thought (hoped) I will need to make some "filler" blocks - long rectangles of things like flying geese.

I have: six 12" blocks, eleven 9" blocks, and two 6x9" blocks.

this is going to be soooo cool!!

Thanks again everyone.

hi all, i hope you had a fabulous christmas!! anyone getting chance to get near their sewing machine??
mmm, me neither lol...

Sue, your blocks look amazing laid out together!!! what a great selection of block patterns!!
i can't wait to see the top put together with your 'flying geese' fillers too!! great idea!! lovely!! great colour choices btw!!

i received my 'last' block yesterday from 'ok darla'. thank you 'sew' much for the appliqued kettle!!! over here, i'm what you would class a 'tea jennie' as i'm ALWAYS drinking tea!! it's perfect!!! love it! lol...
i say 'last' block as i don't expect the other 'last' one to come. i suspect 'savannahanndons' has had something major crop up in her life that has really got in the way of things for her.
i hope she's ok, bless her...

any more block lay outs to see girls?? i will take a pic of mine today to show you...
hugs all, love jacquie xxx
