I sent a PM to April that I'd join if she needs someone else to fill the spot but I wouldn't be upset if she had enough and someone else wanted in to "bump me".

    Pre-warning...extremely new to patterns.

Going to post a picture of my first really involved quilt that I just finished for our GD...just to give you an idea of my skill level...it's the most detailed one I've done to date.

Moonwork..YEAH..Im glad you are going to join. Go to quilterscache.com. They have blocks by size then by level of difficulty. I have printed off maybe 60 star patterns from there and they are easy to do, easy to follow the directions! If you need ANY help all you have to do is ask and everyone on here will help! Glad you are joining!!

Jessica. Hope you give it a try. I love turtles! :)

It sounds like I could have to buy mucho different fabrics to match up with what is sent to me to be used as I don't have much stash as of yet. However I won't know what I need until I received 35 different pieces?

It also sounds like they can request special colors to be used with their fabrics creating another purchase to coordinate for just their fabric.

It also sounds like that the squares will be limp during construction since several do not wish to have them sprayed due to health reasons. Any suggestions for construction help without spray?

I have cats and as most people with cats know, they lay on everything regardless how you wish they wouldn't. I wouldn't want someone with allergies to have problems from my cats being on/near their squares.

I am very new at using a pattern for a square and had thought about joining this as a good way to try out 35 squares... but I think I've been scared off. Actually doing a nine patch evenly was a challenge for me but I understand that is too basic a pattern for some's taste.

Sorry but maybe another time when I think I can live up to the standards. Sounded like fun .... good luck to the rest of you.
    Lisa,
Many of my wonderful swappers have already jumped in and helped me out here (thank you all so much! :-) ) so there is not much for to say other than we welcome ALL LEVELS of swappers in this swap and truly the colors and the block are up to you. The allergy thing is because we did have one or two very severe attacks but in all honesty most people are okay. This swap is meant to be fun and a learning experience. Become comfortable with one block and then try another or wait until the next Boom and then try another. We are always here to help and encourage. So glad you decided to give it a whirl-your stash will be just fine.
    Hugs
    April

april will it be possible for me to use one or two pieces at 9"x22" in lieu of the 18"x11"? i want to start the blocks for another college bound teen's quilt and these are the sizes of the two batiks i am planning to use in her quilt.

    LMK..... fingers crossed.

I've never done one of these either but.....after hearing Michelle B. and Janet talk about it I signed up. I bought my fabric on Friday. I just LOVE this fabric. My shop lady said it's an oriental fabric but I just loved how it looked so I only bought the one fabric. Can't wait to see what my partners do with it. I will get is washed and ready to go out this week. I'm a lil scared to that I won't be able to get the blocks done as quickly as needed. I did figure that if I have 4 months then if I did one every 3 1/2 days I am fine. :) Thanks for letting me join in the fun.
