Here is my first attempt at a Chisholm Trail block, what do you think? The butterfly fabric is a breast cancer fabric that came in a remnant package from fabric.com

I am so excited now and ready for a lot of participation on this project. I just heard back from the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer director in our area, she is so excited to have a queen size quilt as a raffle prize. I hope to have mine ready for her by the middle of June so she can get it out into the public to start selling tickets. I can't wait now to see everyone's finished projects. THANK YOU ALL for joining. If any of our board would be interested in donating some time quilting mine please let me know.

Tam - That's a great block. Glad you are joining.

Sandi - Those are both so pretty. Your quilt will be fabulous. Hope we can buy tickets, too.

Thank you for hosting this swap and for the challenge. I have never done anything for an auction but I think it is a wonderful idea and I am proud to help. I am checking in my current area to see which organization(s) would be interested. I am proud to be part of this swap.

It is finished!! I finally found time get started on my blocks and here is the first one...now just 11 more! :D
I am pleased with the way it came out. It really is square, but the pic makes it look a little wonky.
Took a little longer than anticipated. Was so proud of myself getting things all cut out as per pattern...couldn't figure why I ran out of white fabric...only to find out that there was a mistake in the pattern calling for an 18 X 4-1/2 strip that should have been 2-1/2
 If I had only cut enough for one out first, I would have found the mistake and saved so much fabric. Oh well, I see a pink and white scrappy quilt it my future :D Maybe I can use it as sashing or something in the quilt?

    Well this block be ok?

    Really is square ;-)

Question....my husband keeps telling me I won't have enough blocks to make a nice size quilt. If I find I have time before the second mailing time, can I sign up for a second set? Don't want to commit right now, cause not certain if it is doable.

Nursie, that is gorgeous! So very, very, very pretty.
12 blocks could make a lapsize quilt or larger, depending on the width of the sashings and borders. BUT, another set would be soooooooooo nice!

Thank you. I never thought I would want a machine that did embroidery. But I am so glad I got it, I am having a blast!
