Might this be "want"?? P.S. it was only $25 at Walmart!
Actually - i'm thinking of doing a quick, quilted wall hanging tree to hang over the couch...our youngest DGD just turned 1 last month....and i am already wondering how i will keep her away from the tree every day (i am her daycare). I mean...she is a good girl....and understands "no no don't touch".....but really, how much can you expect from a 1 year old where lights and pretty baubles are involved. Thought i might quilt one of the ones made with squares and HST - and put my most fragile ornaments on the quilted tree.

My aunt has one like yours - only it is black with white lights....she is a 70+ year old Trekkie - and all her collection of Star Trek ornaments hang on that tree.

PS....great spot for your "Black Tie" quilt !!!!

PenniF, not sure if anyone is going out in morning. They may venture out by late morning or early afternoon. The deer here dont seem to move much when we have snow storms. The move great before it which was this morning and will starting moving again once the storm is over. So, most of the hunters have decided to sleep in and head out once it slows down. Sounds good to me, I will go out and get some alone time in the woods while DH stays here with kids. Of course that also depends on the temps. If not I will just cozy up on the couch and the kids and I will start making some orns for the trees I picked up for them today. They are super excited to have their own trees for their rooms.

As soon as I read the card I promptly closed the box without looking at the contents. All the packages are now together in a safe place until opening day. Thanks again ladies.

Only one of the kids got a dear today. He is super happy. It is what we call a West Virginia 11 point. Translation, its a spike but he is thrilled. Its his first dear and he is only 8 so the fact that he got it on his first shot is amazing. He cant stop smiling. The rest will have more luck as the week goes on I have faith. Onto finishing wrapping up my SS package.
    Cindy,
    Lovely lil tree!
    Mdall,
    Congrats to your son!
My hubby hasn't ever been deer hunting, he and our son sure have wanted to go..or elk, or antelope...
Just not that many places to hunt them around where we live.

I know exactly what you mean - i always put a small tree - about 2' tall in both of my kids' bedrooms on their dresser. ...and Santa always left 1 small gift under that tree for them to open as soon as they woke up on Christmas day. Last Christmas I took the 3 DGDs to Hobby Lobby and they each picked out a tree - each one chose a color that matched their room - and we had great fun making ornaments and decorating them.
{{{sigh}}} sure do wish Christmas lasted longer !!!

Ugh, so frustrated. Been trying to post on here for 3 hours. As soon as I type what I want to say out goes the electric. So, we awoke to the electric flashing off and on. It has been doing so since 7 A.M. Not bigger if its off, we have a generator. The problem is the surges are really hard on our appliances. My uncles big deep freeze has already blown from it. Hoping it doesnt affect our appliances. We have a little over a foot now. Most of it was dumped in a 2 hour time period so no wonder the electric is having a temper tantrum. At this point Thanksgiving Dinner at Grandmas is off and we will be having out first Thanksgiving Dinner here at home. Wish me luck, the turkey is at my Grandmas. So probably having shrimp here since its in the freezer. Hope anyone else getting this storm is fairing well. We will muddle through as we always do. Just wish the electric would make up its mind for my appliances sake.

Good news is oldest son got a deer. All the rest of us are huddled in the living room. The kids decided they wanted to make cross stitched orns for their trees. So, I am trying to teach them. One is sticking to it, the other two are in and out. Well see how it goes.

Ill check in later if can. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
