I am exchanging ornaments with my long time friend patty this year so I called her to let her know I was all finished with mine and ready to swap and "do lunch". But, she has a really bad bronchial cold and I don't want to be anywhere near that! I didn't tell her that. But, I sure don't want to be sick during the holidays for sure! Please be careful if you are going out to have those hand sanitizers ready girls.

Mz Melly, It sounds like you are going to be busy even if you aren't out and about.

Yippee!!! I got my ornament package today. Now to wait until the 6th. That will be an exciting day because it is also the opening day for the Secret Santa packages.

Thomas Turkey is still grazing in our moveable pens out in our pasture. He will be dressed out (or undressed actually) tomorrow in time to be cleaned up for cooking on Thanksgiving. This year, as last year, DH and I are going to enjoy a nice quiet day at home. We will be missing the madness at the stores on Black Friday. However, probably will do a bit of shopping online.

MizMelly: here is a link to some bibs I made for my Dad a few years ago when he was in a nursing home. Near Thanksgiving I bought some towels with harvest themes and made more for him. My Mom thought they were great because they did keep his clothing much cleaner. The cute designs gave all the patients in the dining room something to ooh and aww over.

I usually go out Black Friday shopping. Any other time of the year I hate crowds. We went to a new grocery store here and it was so packed I actually started to hyperventilate, will be interesting to see how Black Friday shopping turns out.

You are very welcome. Just a note: I washed and dried the towels several times before I sewed them up so that all of the shrinkage was dealt with.

I also often wear my food on my chest. Not what I like. Why can't it stay on the utensil all the way to the mouth?

the pattern I use for the "bibs" is Simplicity 2687 "Adult clothing protectors and hats". I use the basic pattern and use novelty fabric for the front and terrycloth for the backing (better absorption), and I use bias tape binding for the edges. These do not tie, they have a velcro tab on the neck piece. So easy on and off, especially for those who have trouble reaching behind their neck to try and tie strings. They turn out real cute -- I like to use different theme fabrics for the fronts so they look much cuter than the photo shows on the pattern!
