WOW! What great recipes that are being shared here. I just love the kourabiedes one JNCT! I have been looking for that one for about five years. I went to a cookie bake off with a couple friends and she would not share the recipe with us. We also made rum balls and it turned out to be a fabulous day. Laughing, talking and baking in the kitchen with friends. What could be more fun?

Up until my mother passed, I used to make Christmas Stollen. (I think that is the spelling). She loved it so much and I just happen to have run across a recipe the year she mentioned it. She loved it and I loved making it for her. Also coconut macaroons. Haven't made those in years!

Every Christmas for the past 65 years or more for the family, we have had MY Moms Apple Salad.

6 red delicious apples or other very red ones, cut in bite sized pieces
1 large bunch of red grapes cut in half, seedless
1 can pineapple tidbits or cut rings, reg. size
1 bag miniature marshmallows or cut up large ones
1 cup celery cut up fine
1 lemon, 1/2 squeezed and put on apples when cut
1 pint heavy whipping cream, whipped with 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Put fruit , ect. in large bowl and add whipped cream-mix gently
Put in serving bowl and enjoy.
This will last about 1 1/2 days.
My sister adds mandarin oranges, an option if you like

Away from QB for a couple of days and just look at all the goings-on...mmm the recipes! And reminders to get jumping with my ornament (finished, but I am dawdling, doing a few more).

Catching up: When I posted the Polish Christmas Star ornament I said I was going to try starching circles of fabric to see if I could make a cloth one - well forget that idea - the fabric does not possess the necessary stiffness and the star points fray. The stars are well-suited for paper. The extra fabric circles I cut out will make a nice - - - something.
