I'm in for sure, just not liking what I am coming up with. The paper piecing mariner's compass was a disaster. I think I was making the block too small and it had too many parts, there was no way anyone was going to be able to quilt that thing. I may try a bigger block. I'm having trouble finding beach themed fabric in my area and I must not have a good imagination to come up with something without it. I trade with a friend for some fabrics with boats so working on that this weekend. I haven't given up, I just want to make something worthy :) :) :)

i was going to make a bikini - i just googled bikini clip art but i went with the flip flops and smiling sun instead.

you could always do the bikini idea or a sand bucket, a life preserver, etc.

    Anyone need ideas?

There is also the sidewalks with rollerbladers, Umbrellas, beach ball, palm trees, sand castles, woodies, cloudy sunsets with streaming lights from the sky onto the water, airplanes with streaming banners in the sky, people riding on banana boats or para-sailers being pulled by speedboats, concession stands, lifeguard stands, and beach towels, surfers and long docks to fish off.

Oh how about a tiki hut or one of those crazy straw hats?

Finished my first set... Second set should be done tomorrow.

Beaches make me think of luaus - so I went with hula girls with surfboards. Bright and fun --- like me...

Second set - is washed and ready to cut, just need to decide on which kind of a block.
