I'm also learning that there are times that I can "fudge" by trimming components or making skimpy seams without wrecking the integrity of the block.
Way to go Bear! When Dorothy( my friend and assistant) asks me if a clipped off corner will be ok I always assure her it will hide in the seam and not hurt a thing. It does have to be less than a 1/4" to work but if the corner is not perfect it doesn't matter. The edge can also be less than straight as long as one of the fabrics has a straight edge to judge your seam allowance by. I have done this for years and it doesn't compromise the integrity of the seam.

Here's my try at what ya'll told me of how to do it. I'm just a smidgen off, but the seams are 1/4 inch and no stretching or pulling.. YAY!!

Thank you both again so much!!

Looking really good Tuesy!! Glad you got it figured out! I haven't started on mine yet. I need to get some orders out of the way and then I can concentrate on my DJ blocks. Hopefully soon!

Hey Star, lovely hand pieced block. Very impressive.

Yes, you should square it up to an even 5 inches all around.

    Great job!
