    not really, if you want to fill in with either solid blocks (like i did in the table runner) or some other easier block (like make a few log cabins) you could stretch 36 blocks into a throw and a table runner.

    i'll put something together and post pics.

    don't worry there's at least 2 blocks that i'll take from L.

    i'll do L5 & L7 and i might do a 3rd set to fill in another row if needed.

    works for me, all my backgrounds are on the darker side.

    then people can use light sashing to make the blocks pop.

    here's a log cabin jane, its one of the pre-designed quilts in the software.

    it uses 24 jane blocks so if you do 2 sets that leaves you with 12 blocks to use for a table runner.

    you could do the on point table runner with 2 rows and put sashing around them. then just use some filler solid fabric squares.

    that would still leave you with 1 block to spare.
