I am hoping to have time in the near future to do some redrafting of some of the DJs. I go through looking at some of these thinking I would do this here with this one and oh I know how I would do that one! I can see so many of them done with my cut down methods. Just have to find the time to work up some directions. Hopefully soon.

the yo yo conversation was with me.

we had this discuss at quilt guild and if you're just turning under a 1/4 seam using a gathering method (similar to yo yo gathering) its not a yo yo.

its just another way to turn under a seam allowance on a circle.

but call it whatever makes you happy.

I don't care what it is called. Just thankful for a way of doing it easier. At least with calling it a "yo yo" I had something to start viewalizing it. :D

    i agree.

our guild is very academic heavy. its held at FIT and many people in the guild have PhDs in the textile arts and actually work for museum's in NYC and teach at FIT.

that's one of the nice things about this forum - people with different backgrounds that probably wouldn't mix or meet in any other setting can contribute ideas and learn from each other here

Gee's Bend (I think) quilts come to mind

i love gee bend quilts - they are some of my most favorite quilts in the world (now those i have an emotional attachment too) my heart rate actually increases when i think of them. its truly a visceral reaction.

i go to see them every time they come to NY.

a line of fabric and patterns just came out that is in the spirit of gee's bend - its been put out by Windham Fabrics.

here's a link to the fabric and the patterns/kits

  Klue I don't doubt you're right ( I wanted a smilie that sticks out his tongue but couldn't find one!! LOL LOL) But I have always called them this and it is hard to change! It is what the lady who did them years ago called them so I guess it has stuck in my brain!! I am a creature of habit what can I say?? I do realize this is probably confusing to people.
