    i've seen mixed results with this method and DJ blocks, some people do a great job and then others are less impressive. i don't know if its the method or the quilter but the results have been mixed.

    its not my favorite way to paper piece because of all the time spent at the ironing board pressing the next fabric onto the freezer paper.

    i don't do a lot of ironing while i'm paper piecing, i have a roller thing for the seams or i finger press and if those 2 methods fail then i would use my applique iron for a second.

    i just don't like all the wasted time pressing each and every piece - i have way to many things to do.

    I agree with Klue I also like the roller for the same reason then I press at the end

    Oooh dear!! I'm with you, never would've thought we'd see the same fabrics with this many people...guess we all like Joann's and online shopping. :lol: The red and cream were Joann purchases and the other 4 were online purchase.. Moda ... but now I can't remember who the designer is.. ???? but just love this stuff...

    what does the roller thingie look like?
    When I have attempted pp (ironing as i go) My block always ends up smaller even though I'm very careful.

    and I've been to this site alot as she's done the blocks and says (at least on my 3 blocks) which method is better to do them

    It looks like this. It's a Wall Paper Seam Roller... at least that's what I use. I also have a wooden iron that I got from Eleanor Burns online shop.

    this is the one i have and i love it. i don't press anything until its finished, i just use the roller thing.

    I have some of the same in mine too!! Don't worry, it'll look fine to have similar/same fabrics throughout...the pieces are so tiny, it'll probably only help tie it together a little!!
