I eould be more reafy to try the sew along if I had a good woerking sewing machine  I do have an old mechanical that I am trying to get going but really want my new babylock out of layaway. hope fully before x-mas!

you really should, its not hard and it will open up a world of quilting that you're missing out on.

the bulk of the DJ blocks can be paper pieced and they just come out so beautiful this way because of the exact precision you can achieve with paper piecing.

KLue- I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the number that come along...the real question will be the ability to keep up for the entire project - that's going to be a challenge as life has such a way of getting in the way!!

Thanks for all your hard work on pulling this together. It will help us all, and for that...wow, great job! Anything that can help the process stay fun and exciting, rather than frustrating, will be a tremendous boost for this project.

Names...I keep trying to think of something. I just know with all the creativity around here, something is going to pop up and stick!!

ditto!! I believe the excitement and anticipation is just out of this world.
Only having to make one block of each should help the process run fairly smooth.
Klue, I bet you are overwhelmed at this point.
If I can help with anything at all, just ask.

I've never been involved with a swap but I have committed to doing 18 blocks. If this works, with my boring but routine schedule (punching a clock), I hope to committ to doing another 18. I love paper piecing so this is right up my alley. The smallness is a little challenging though. I started making a minature paper pieced quilt several years ago and quit because of the size. I promise I won't quit on this though, once I committ to something I do it. Oct 31, deadline, correct?

Klue - if you feel overwhelmed when it's time to organize and mail the blocks back to people, I live about 55 minutes from Tarrytown/Sleep Hollow via I684 & 287 or the Sawmill and would be glad to help.
