This sounds like a great idea! The 2010 show is in June, I think that would be pushing it, but the 2011 show would work, like Esqmommy suggested.

I just cut out all the fabric and began to sew block B3. I put one together and measured. It came out to 4.5. I looked at the directions and I realized it measures for a 4.5. How do I convert this to 5.00 inches? Yikes, should I take the same fabric I am using around the edge and add 1/2 inch on each side? I assume then I'm cutting a 1 inch strip all around? Would that ruin the block? I know it's what Jane did on many of them. Or, I could re-cut, but boy, I'd like to avoid it!!

Also, I have the directions for I-1 and it's 4.5 too. I'm so bad at math. There are 9 patches and two single patches.

any input would be tremendously appreciated!!!

Here's a photo or two...the circle is actually fine. The fabric is very shimmery so it's not photographing quite as clean as it actually looks.

This is with extra fabric put around it. It's not straight, but the block is square. Perhaps I should square up as much as possible then put the extra fabric around it?

the software has it all figured in it. it should say 4.5 finished size so unfinished it would be 5 inches.

The other problem adding the quarter inch, it's going to put a seam where it will be sewn when a quilt or table runner, or whatever is made with it. My fear is I need to recut the other pieces, *but not the circle* by adding 1/4 inch all the way around. Do you think that will fix it? Darn it, this took me two days to get 18 cut out (there are 8 pieces for each block...) Anyone have any other great ideas???

Or I can add 1/8 in to the circle and the outer piece....yikes...
