some people are hand piecing and others are machine piecing.
its really up to each person, the way they wish to work, and the skills/techniques they developed.
i think some jane blocks are actually easier if hand pieced while others are best to paper piece.
i'm going to post the way i put together the blocks and rhonda is putting up tute on how she does the blocks and i'm sure other people will do the blocks completely different from either rhonda or myself - and i hope that they will post up their method too.

Beautiful blocks DJ cyber friends.
I have a story....
I ordered DJ software and I also ordered EQ6 software probably a week and a half ago. Each from different businesses.
Thursday, I received DJ book. (no software)
Friday, I received upgrade for EQ6. What are the chances?
Naturally they are both returning my money, but I have to re-order and wait for my software=delay in play time.

Hi,
I wanted to ask what people thought about the fabrics I was planning to use for my blocks. I've attached a picture. The gingerbread fabric is from my stash, the red & gold I bought for the swap. Is the gingerbread fabric too "cutesy"? It seems to me that most of the pictures people have posted are more "elegant" prints... I can look for a different fabric to go with the red & gold at my LQS. I'm doing block D-13 which is a square on pointe.
What do you think?

My only concern about the gingerbread is that it doesn't "read" green/red/gold/off white/cream. It appears to be either black or blue...I almost made a whole set with something similar in blue, but re-read the original instructions, so saved myself the mistake. It's darling fabric, but IMHO it doesn't work with the rules that have been laid out.
