Thanks y'all! I honestly had no idea what to make...then Le Brat started in on me...and we all know the Bratster, eh?? I mean this with much love, and very complimentary to ya, Brat!!!
So, I was going crazy, er I mean going thru all of my books, patterns, magazines, etc...and happened upon one of my newer books (Okay, I really had forgotten I had it ) I was turning pages and THERE was the perfect pattern! Of course then I "needed" certain special fabrics to go along with it...haha. In my "defense" so to speak, in spite of having "Grammy's Quilt Shop", so aptly named by my dgd, I really don't have many batiks...and the pattern that "spoke to me" cries out for batiks...That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
    Kif
    Love your "Bickerson's" nickname, Dab!!

well fellow bickersons I wanted to say good evening and well.. finished the top to dabblers quilt, and will be putting it together tomorrow. I am very happy with how it turned out.. not bad for a serious brat quilt. I guess I used the bright colors to inject a bit of me and sparkle cant have a candle without sparkle. was so tempted to take out fabric paints and Martha stewarts glitter, super fine opal.. but I restrained. that wont happen again. sorry onalee but your going to get the other side of the brat this month. what say you to say.. a mouse? just a little one.. you wont have to feed it.. or very traditional I can do that. I have all it takes to well take it home! this is such a fun swap I hope Quilting Krazy that you consider just a tiny bit that next month is one: a theme plus the traditional if you want to do what you want to make instead. these themes are so fun! like LET it SNOW! or perhaps DEEP in the FOREST or even Beautiful Packages/whats in that box?! or even My Favorite things!! (glad to tell everyone what they are so I get things I love! from all of you!).. lol.. just a thought ...

OK, Brat. Are you loosing it? You have been referring to Dabbler as "Onalee". Are you confused? Or is there another Onalee out there? I have one gal that I have become friends with that shares my name. I'd love it if I found another. And that would be quite the coo if two months in a row you made a DQ for an "Onalee". Curious minds want to know.

laughing at myself. I have lost it. wait I didn't have it to begin with! I am searching for it? no? your right dabbler is my partner. So is OMACOOKIE not you buslady. why did my brain register that when well I have the emails we have traded and you know .. I can't explain it. but thank you for pointing it out right straight dead center lol so the world knows I have lost it totally. thanks a whole rotten bunch. .. hey what were we talking about? oh yeah pickles. I love pickles! ONALEE your a brat too btw (aka buslady). I am making two doll quilts this month. I have dabblers top but didn't quilt it yet I had other stuff pushing me to get it out in the mail too. I also only have a batting I hated working with. it ..sticks? in my sewing machine like it doesn't want to push through. argh pirates. I have a brother machine simple one and no quilting foot or ability to drop feed dogs. I will see about finishing dabblers tomorrow if I can. Then OMACOOKIES wall hanging will get a start. I just saw the light as I was reading through things and I know what I am going to make for her.

OOPS! PM might have been better? Oh, POOP!! It don't hurt to be laughed at, just goes to show we all have more in common than just the quilting. I didn't join this month, and have been finishing up some projects. Have a UFO almost done. 2 years in the making/finishing. My first attempt at this type of quilting. I have done a little stitch in the ditch and some freemotion. This one has trapunto, STID, quilted flowers, leaves, birds, crosshatch; a little of everything. Huge quilt, King, not perfect but finished. Have to hand sew the binding and have it ready for the quilt show the 19th. Started another on Sunday that I might finish in time, too. It is for a neighbor that has cancer and is going through treatments. I have the panel "What cancer cannot do" and pieced it with some pink/white/black coordinates I got at quilt show a year ago. Here is what I am thinking. Any opinions? I want to do the back in "big block" using the leftovers from the front, but using some light pink or white on the majority and making it a "supporter" quilt. It is lap size, so I am thinking it will be nice to take with her to hospital/doctor visits. I could put a little pocket on it and provide a fabric pen. She could have people write sentiments on the back and sign it. Memories of those that have helped and supported her during this. What you all think?

buslady I think your neighbor would love this. How thoughtful of you to do this for her. I'm sure that support would help and she'll know how much you care.
