    ok -

I made a single color NON-FALL sample from some stash. I think I can handle this ... the only thing I need to really focus on is the pressing (i found a seam that's wonky) and turning the corner at the point of the blade when blanket stitching to the background; wasn't worried about the center I'm totally comfortable with that. Other than that - it is a pretty easy block!

Thanks for the nudge - I'm IN!

Finally finished my set of plates, and have PMed Deb for a mailing address. I'm happy with the way they turned out. Can't wait to get my plates and make a scrappy fall wallhanging.

Oh WOW. Those are nice!!!!! I am excited for one of those in the mix.

Shar, use Best Press spray. I found that to be so helpful in keeping my ends stiff and easy to stitch. Those are pretty. Deb is right, that would look lovely in the winter dresdan plate swap.

I took my 13" square of fabric, centered a dinner plate on the folded-into-quarters and pressed fabric, and drew around the plate with an air-erase pen - had one just the diameter I needed. Then It was easy to get all the points equidistant from the plate edge. Trimmed to a 12-1/2" square after all the sewing was done.

It is a very simple block to do, though it is not one that you can rush through. I found that the best way to center my block was to fold my background fabric in half then into quarters, iron about 2 inches in from the edge, and I could line up my plates that way. I cheated and did the glue stick thing.....every other petal/plate I put a little gab of glue to hold it down.

I am still plugging away with Jack  After taking out the extra blades ( really what was I thinking  LOL) then they wouldn't lay flat :hunf: So taking them all apart - and redoing - Definitely lots of practice for me on this set :? But I am having fun  And still glad I joined

I will get these right- I will get these right- I WILL GET THESE RIGHT !!!!! ;)
