Here is a sneak peek at my partner's (klgls) runner. Hope she likes the colors. It's ready for backing..yeaaaa.

Hey, I've always wanted to live up north - I'm a good cook, cleaner, etc.. We could all take turns working the retreat, doncha think? What a ball we'd have.

Okay here is a sneak peek of 4 out of 5 fabrics for one of my runners. Just need to find a CoW print.....I'm hoping that one of my partners will like this combination.

    Sincerely,
    Tricia

    More pretties showing up!

Been playing in my sewing room again. . . Saw a Dresden Plate table topper somewhere and thought "oh that might be fun". Didn't have a pattern, just started cutting WOF angles. Ended up 41-1/2" across! Thought I should have used Chrustmas fabrics and I would have had a tree skirt. Then suddenly it dawned on me it would be a perfect forest fairy skirt for a little girl! So my friend Kimber brought her girls over and it's going to be a perfect fit for Lily. Now to do a waistband and zipper and hem.
Never know what I'm working on turn into. Lol!

I got the last of my fabrics today. Problem is, I ended up with 2, so I may end up asking for advice here. One is a solid & the other has swirls.

MOM 6 its terrific you can turn one project into another without batting an eye nor tossing it in the bin! A fairy skirt sounds marvelous the thought of a little girl again would make me one happy grandma. I am not great at clothes sewing BUT I have a dear dear friend here who would teach me what I need to know I am sure. All I need is a little one to do it for...

love the fall colors there and wow that thread is saying take me take me!!! are you planning on using it for the quilting or just the sewing of it? I avoid those stripe patterns to the best of my ability. I suck at lining things up! lol brave woman to use that chevron pattern. Have you two spoken? she is very worried about starting on your project Quercus so perhaps you can write each other???

Regarding the road trip north - Will have to map out route, post stops along way to quilt stores, make sure if you want to hop on the bus, you are packed and at the shop on time

You will also need to bring cooking ingredients , cleaning and laundry supplies. We certainly don't want to wear out our welcome.

Pink Lady - I think you may have to build an Inn as well as finish your present remodeling. There may be a gaggle of us coming next fall. You could hire me and Yosamitesa to run it . You could have almost year round quilt retreats (say March to October). We would make a schedule and have weeks for everyone to volunteer to run the retreat- coordinate rooms, set up sewing machines, projects, etc. Wonder if your shop up the road would like to supply machines and notions and all. ( Less packing for attendees ).

We would be your new family since all of yours has flown the coop

Now really- where did I put that passport

All who need one- go ahead and apply, then you will be ready in the spring or fall (2014) to ROAD TRIP !!!!

You will not need to bring cleaning and laundry supplies I make my own I also have lots of blueberries, currants, apple, eggs and chicken. Maybe even a duck or two.
My husband often talks about a B&B when he retires. Maybe this would change his mind lol I do not think it would. The shop up the road does not have sewing machines but I have a couple old one laying around. Nothing fancy but would do for most things You better run it as I have never been to a retreat.
I am all for expanding my family especially if they quilt. I may have to fly down just so I would get the road trip I have my passport.

Here are my fabrics. Of course, I took the picture on my cell phone, in my sewing room, so the quality isn't great. I've decided on the leaves, with black blocks embroidered with fall colors, which I'm going to do this morning. I want to get a little of the orange in, so I may cut narrow strips of it to frame the black blocks & liven it up a little. I decided the black swirls will be the backing fabric, since it's exactly the right size for that & I don't want it to be TOO busy. I'm hoping that the quilters hoop for my machine will be in this week so I can use it on this project!
