Jaba, Loved the pics of your fun trip. Really made it come alive for all us us who follow the thread. My partner in this swap likes blacks and grays but I have an idea of what to buy to make it work to be int he category of Patriotic. Just have to get to a fabric shop and see if they might have what I need. Good thing we have lots of time. Hope all you mother's had a wonderful day.

jaba thank you for sharing photos of your vacation; you have a handsome son and a beautiful granddaughter.
How fun to be able to meet other members on the board - what a fun apron - seeing the inside of the casino reminds me of the first time I ever went to one - I didn't have a clue what I was doing other than the fact I took a set amount of money with me - I got my $1 coins thinking that's what you play with - dropped some in a slot and BAM I won $450 right away - found my neighbor said I was ready to go home because I won and she replied "Are you nuts - we just got here. You can play on the houses money now and keep your own." So I played on and played some more - I lost all the money I won plus the money I was prepared to spend. I seldom gamble after that.

What a memorable vacation - thank you for sharing your photos with us.

Oh, I'm so glad! They are inspiring! I was awake late trying to design in my head. I really need a sketch pad at my bedside Can't decide if I'll follow a pattern, of go with my head (that could be dangerous)

Yeah I am a cheap gambler so is Jan. We both said we would rather buy fabric than throw it in a machine lol. She did a grand job at that too I am thinking this morning.. what is your favorite summer salad? I have this cold rice salad I make with artichoke hearts and such and its so darned good. Something from this San francisco ala carte cookbook I have. yummm...

any sewing that got done? anyone sending their runners yet or are you all on the slow track? love to hear from you so little chatter this time and with 35 players that amazes me. surely some more of you can jump in HINT HINT.. let me know your alive ok? and maybe picking fabric or sewing by now???

Hey, I'm still in the hunt for fabric. I saw and purchased at my favorite LQS some Kona Dimension solid fat quarters to go with a print I saw and ordered on line. Low and behold, the print was sold out. So now I'm either looking for that print local, or starting from scratch again. Being this is my very first runner, I'm stressing over the fabric choices. I'm thinking a sample run through maybe in order.

Went berry pickin last week and it took me 3 days to process all the berries. Out in the field, among all the ripe berries, 30 lbs. didn't look like a lot. I got them home and good grief! What was I thinking. Glad I got them last week. Last night we had frost. Yep, the weather guy said it's the coldest it's been since 1941. No worries, tomorrow it's in the 80's.
