I know I had some bags with the selvedge issues, but honestly, I get so excited opening baggies that I can never match the name to a set of fabrics! Overall, I'm really happy with the swap, and even those blocks will be usable for me that I don't need to swap them out or get any "make up" blocks.

I'm really looking forward to making some more fun I spy quilts! I had hoped to make one for my five-year-old niece, but my brother never responded to my message, so I guess I'll just wait until she's 18 to make her a special quilt (if she wants one). Until then, I hope the little kids who do get my quilts will enjoy them!

Sleepy Hollow - I don't give gifts - quilted or knitted to kids whose parents don't appreciate the effort and money put into the endeavour. You are right - maybe when she is an adult she will appreciate things on her own.

I will repeat a few issues when we are ready to start the next swap, just to remind people. Thanks for bringing these things to my attention.

There were no selvage issues in any of my packages, and I only noticed one square that was on the thin side, but it's no big deal at all. As far as there not being a board name on a few of the baggies, well, I can't leave positive feedback if I don't know who the baggie is from. So if you want me to leave you positive feedback, you gotta put your board name on the baggie! (That's meant playfully, not snarkily, BTW, but I really do need your board name in order to leave you feedback.)

Hopefully everything I sent was okay. I try to be super-careful when cutting, and I always try to put an extra square or two in each baggie, just in case of a cutting boo-boo or if there's a square that doesn't appeal to the recipient's tastes. If there was any problem with mine, please let me know.

I just wanted to say to the group as a whole that I was one of the swappers who forgot to label each baggie. I did read all the rules and was aware at some point that I should do that, but during the process of preparing the fabrics etc., it was overlooked. I apologize.

I have been one to make mistakes in this swap but have tried very hard to follow the rules and do my best. I was happy w/all my blocks too. I think Rena does a fine job and do not envy her position at all. Perhaps a look through this will help too....thank you bkay for posting the link.

    Rules for Swappers

    1. Please send things you'd be happy to receive yourself.

    2. Please graciously accept what you receive.

    3. If, for some reason, you don't feel you can use something you receive in a swap, please keep it to yourself. If you receive fewer items than you were supposed to receive, please notify the activity organizer by pm. NO public posts complaining about "inferior" fabric or construction, whether or not it was pre-washed, over-exposed to smoke or pets, off-size, etc. (This hasn't happened in a very long time. I mention it as a COB (Cover Our Butts) "just in case".)

    4. Please, NO public complaints or criticisms of other swappers, items received, or other type for any reason. This rule applies to any related posts in all sections of the board - including Personal Diaries & Announcements. ALL complaints must be addressed by Private Message (pm) to the activity coordinator. In the unlikely event the coordinator cannot help solve the problem, please contact PatriceJ.

I went to "The Big City" with my mom today. Wandering around a craft store, I found their fat quarter clearance cart, where all fat quarters had been reduced to $1! I found some really cute fabrics to use in the next swap

I have a few baby quilts to work on, but I'll probably get the swap blocks cut soon too. This is the one area I don't seem to procrastinate in.

I also want to wish all a Merry Christmas to all. Am in Nashville house and fur babysitting for our daughter - she is gone to NOLA for the week. Many are off this next week so maybe some will get some I Spy sewing done. One has already made a quilt with squares from the last swap. She asked about backing fabric and I gave her a few ideas - what have you others done for backing fabric?

    Give us a few ideas...
