I wish I had the time to join in with this project as I adore Autumn colours - maybe next year Colletta.

BlueChicken's method of blocking with a spray bottle of water and pinning the block to a cork board really works well. Not having a cork board, I have been using the Wright's Cardboard Pattern Cutting Board that I bought at Joann's with a 40% off coupon. Its 36" x 60" size allows me to also block small quilts and quilted wallhangings.

The best tool I have is a 12 1/2 X 12 1/2 inch templace, complete with grids, so I can aligh the block so I don't loose corners when I trim it to size. I can't believe how much I use it for so many projects. Put it on your "want" list if you don't have one.

Do you remember where you got your 12 1/2 inch template? That seems like a handy size and one I know would be well used at my house.

Joan, I got a 12 and a half inch square ruler at Joann's. Has the grid, and diagnals and all. I use it to square up all my blocks!

    I got mine in a multi-pack at Wal-mart. 12 1/2, 8 1/2, 6 1/2 and 4 1/2 for about $22.

It was either at JoAnn's or a craft store called "Michael's" )also have 40% coupons) that is in this area. I"ll bet you can get them lots of places. I obviously used a 40% off coupon because I'm too thrifty to pay full price!
