Those blocks are so cute, GracefulAnn! I really like the blackbird's long legs They give him a ton of character.

    Hi everybody again!
Fell off the radar vacationing in FL - and now after upload snafu, here's my blocks for the 2 sets I've done so far. I am making at least one more set. I've been sewing as fast as I can.
I still feel as if I'm on "beach and cocktail time."
You'll be able to see I was practicing half-square triangles - the first block is "fall campfire" and recall that fire is wonky...in my defense... ...fire is really, really wonky.
The second one is "half-hexes with gingko leaf" (not realistic b/c their autumn colors in real life are gold). Too bad I had to add the smallest of strips to this one block to center the design.

Great job K-Roll. You definitely think outside the box. They will make great additions to our quilts. It sounds like you had a great vacation. (I'm glad.)

GracefulAnn and K-Roll - great blocks from both of you. Glad you had a good vacation K-Roll.

I have been unsewing. Chain pieced the side border on all five blocks of set 3 and then decided I didn't like the colour. Shame I didn't just do a test one first but I was trying to hurry myself along.

DeeCee I hate reverse sewing!!! I've done the same thing and thought I should have done a test block first. We live and learn don't we.

K-roll glad to see you had a wonderful time on vacation. The blocks are wonderful. Can't wait to see what else you come up with.

Here's my fourth set. I didn't give him and eye because for mine I want to put a button eye on. I thought I'd leave that up to you too.

FYI, ladies, I use tear-away stabilizer behind my appliqués and I can never quite tear away everything in between the tiny zigzag stitches. I believe it washes away. I hope you don't mind?
