I will definitely need this quilt top in hand at the fabric store to buy fabric. I do not have any of these colors. What a great reason to shop!
I received my center back with border added by Wendy...sorry the picture isn't very good, I don't have a place with good lighting to take the picture in the house and wanted to make sure to get it in the mailbox before the mailman came this morning. I had sent her a message shortly after hearing about my dad because I wasn't sure if I would be able to finish my border and even feel like continuing with the RR. But after seeing her addition and having my border added to my first center, I've decided I will keep going.
Wendy will be getting Hav4boys center from me
Violetsunnus will be getting my (Carriem) center from me
Both are in the mail today.

Thank you. I am glad it worked. I do not usually make quilts with straight lines or blocks that have been done before. I usually create and make quilts from my mind, so this is new for me, but I am so much enjoying trying something new. This is a quilt I am working on now -trying to get it better
Have a great day.

Wow Violetsunnus! That is very pretty but looks really hard to make. I can't even wrap my head around it. Is it applique or pieced?
Thank you for sharing pictures of what you make. Very interesting.

It is pieced. I have not done appliqué before. Carriem’s center is appliqué I believe and I am thinking of trying to appliqué a block or two for her border. This round robin is giving me the inspiration to step out of my box and try new techniques and learn thru others. I am already looking forward to doing another. Question-would anyone be interested in doing block swaps where you make 11 unique blocks a month and then you swap 10 of those blocks for 10 other blocks one from each person in the group and you do it every month for the next six months giving you 60 blocks. Thinking of something like that after the holidays and if anyone has any ideas please share them with me and if you are interested let me know and if you think anyone else would be interested.
Thank you..
Thank you..

Carrie,,, i’m so glad you didn’t feel the need to quit. As soon as I saw your center I knew I had to make the bowties m. Many years ago I did a round robin (and actually this was a row by) and it’s three dimensional! it took me 20 years to get the feel for it and then I got quilted recently. We went to Alaska in 2018 (cruise) and got the printed panels on the trip. Prior to that nothing worked properly and I just could not finish the quilt. I’m really glad that I waited because I think it’s magnificent now. Before it was just the white and blue. Anyway all that to say that I had just bought all that Judi Roth or mild fabric to sew I had everything I needed to take care of your quilt…. What with all that I’m really glad you’re sticking with it.
