    That doesn't always work SD...in the IRR, we've had some that had to pay VAT if the $ amount listed was too high. Its usually safe to check "Gift", then keep the value at $25.00 or below.
    Really? That's strange! I have sent quilts out to be quilted to the U.S., checked off that it is a gift, and declared the true value and insured it for that value and there has never been a problem with having to pay duty/taxes.

    And here I thought SD was joining my doll quilt swap! What a let down! LOL! But thanks for the tips on mailing internationally. :thumbup:

    The US does not charge that tax to recipients, as far as I know. I discovered this in another swap and it was mailings to Canada.

    Awww, you guys are so sweet, but I'll throw my hat into the ring just like everyone else! I'm just very happy to have Shadow Dancer join us. We have so many talented quilters in this group and I love adding more.
