If we are supposed to make perfect quilts, then I am going to need a lot more time. I understand the pressure though. It is tough when you want it to be perfect and problems keep coming up. There is just a point where you have to stop and finish that little sucker and send it off. It will be loved by its recipient. Then sign up for next month's swap and try again, and hopefully I will be successful. I am looking at these doll quilt swaps as practice. Linda

Well, there is a story about the ladybugs---thanks to someone on this board--I was working on my quilt--and I was short about 1 1/2 inches of ric-rac.

Got on the live chat for a little bit---mentioned my problem and that I would have to go the the store the next day for more.

Someone on the chat suggested that I put a button where the ric-rac was short.

    TAAADAAAA---ladybug buttons LOL LOL

RJ, that is such a cute quilt. Until you told us about the rick rack, I don't think anyone noticed the shortage. Anyway it is hard to join together. What a cute solution to your problem. I think I'd take the ladybugs to more rick rack anytime! They are just darling and add so much to a cute quilt. They go along with the dot/heart theme. And they especially look happy crawling up the quilt.

Margie -- DO NOT stress over your little quilt -- SEND IT. Believe me, I know how intimidating that first doll quilt is, and it's not worth all your anguish. The fact that you researched a pattern, attempted something new, and put it all together is enough for me. It's a learning process, and should look like one. And don't worry, I would still want to swap with you even if you just sent me two squares of material glued together -- you cared enough to join and you cared enough to make the effort, and that's what counts. Your attempts at having the perfect quilt to send me is embarrassing -- I AM NOT ONE TO JUDGE, and I certainly am not comparing it to anything or anyone else. And just so you're forewarned -- I'm trying something new on the quilt I'm sending you, so don't look at it any closer than about 10 feet.

Wow, I love this quilt. This is my first time to be part of this doll quilt swap and I am hoping to finish my swap partner's quilt this weekend, everyone is so talented.
