How's everybody else doing? Very quiet here. Wait ... are those sewing machines I hear in the background .... ahhh .... the sweet hum of sewing machines ... gotta love it!

Sounds good to me, Nelco. We should all strive to make the one we're working on the best one yet! At least, that should be the goal, right? Now I can't wait to see your mug rug!
I'm only teasing you, Nelda! No pressure ... really!

I have a question for everybody -- sort of a survey.
This swap requires that the mug rugs finish at a minimum of 9"x8" -- right? But some people like them larger, & others like them smaller.
What do you like? What, to you, is the best size for a mug rug?
Prior to joining this swap, I made my mug rugs about 6"x8", which is pretty small by QB standards, but I would just put a mug on it & maybe a cookie, sans the small plate, obviously.
This is just a question, so please do not change the size of the mug rug you are making this month.
I'd like everyone to weigh in & give an opinion. Do you use your mug rug for its intended purpose, or another purpose? I know some people hang them up. In fact, I plan to do just that myself. But would you rather have a mug rug you can actually use as a mug rug? Would the size of the mug rug change if you used it for its intended purpose?
Please let us know what you think. Everyone -- join in!

I do like the larger sized mug rug because then I can use as a "doily" on the table in our foyer or on the family heirloom glass topped coffee table in the living room. Of course, I can also use it as its intended purpose: mug rug OR hang it as a wall hanging. An 8 x 10 seems to accommodate a mug and small plate nicely, as well as the other uses mentioned above.
With that being said, I enjoy working with a larger surface . . . sometimes I don't like working with the small squares and trying to get the results to look right. Am I making sense on my mutterings?????
