DH & I didn't meet until ... well, I won't give out any "secrets," but neither of us was 20! My niece (8 years younger than me) & I went to Nashville the year my mother died. We planned our vacation for the beginning of April but someone with more seniority than I wanted that week so I got the 3rd week in April instead. DH played rugby for the Irish rugby team & they were heading for NZ that same week, but something happened & the trip was cancelled (on the NZ end), but the team also had an invite to go to Nashville, so they went. So ... neither one of us was supposed to be there that week. But I knew, as soon as I saw him across the room, that I had met my soul mate -- the connection was immediate! (His dad had died 6 months before my mother, & he has always believed that they were fixing us up!)

JuneBillie -- the niece I just mentioned now lives in eastern TN.
Quite the love story, Pamela! I love hearing everyone's "love stories". So many long marriages.

I'll be married 39 years this April, I was married to my husband's brother and his wife died in the fall and then my husband died in January, we'd known each other for many years and he came to help me with taxes etc, I had 4 kids then two in college and a 13 and 8 year old... We married on April 3rd of that same year... My story speaks for itself, besides it's hard for me to type with a brace on... Hugs

Congratulations to all of you married folks. It's really nice to hear your stories and since I've been married twice and divorced twice it's nice to know that people are staying married. Another cold one here today but it did warm up to 15. It seems like a heat wave. More snow tonight. Not happy

    Everyone have a great day

I have been married 3 times widowed twice.

With hubs #1 I was 16 when we got married, 17 when our daughter
was, and 18 when he died from drinking and driving.

With hubs #2 we was together 13 years, married just under 8 years.
I left him and moved back to Colorado with my daughter, and 1 year
after leaving him he had a massive heart attack and died.

The wonderful, and awesome man to which I am PROUD to call my
husband is a giant of a man at 6'3" and 360lbs but a teddy bear at
heart. We have been together since September 12, 2000. That is also
the date we got married on 3 years after meeting.

So anytime I say we have been together for 15&12 that is what I am
    referring too.

I have 1 daughter of my own, and 2 step daughters.

Hubs and I never had any kids together.

Some of you may know that I am a Type 2 insulin dependent
    diabetic.

With that being said I have been "playing" around with some ideas
for several years to help raise money for diabetes research. I knew
WHAT I wanted to do, just never could find the "right" design to help
    me with my quest.

I saw this design, and a few others that are similar and knew this
    was "the" design.

This is my first sample, there will be some changes with the next
few until I figure out the exact look I want.

Me, too, QL. Very simple, but very distinct.

love it. Redgarnet accepts items for the Juvenile Diabetes Assoc, for summer camp for the kids to learn how to deal with the disease. I too, have diabetes, and every year I donate to her. this year, the last Mystery train is my donation, plus some smaller quilty items.

    Love your design Louise.
