    Dwina..so glad you're joining us.

about the glue on the hexies. I use a glue stick, it dries and pops right off in
about a minute or two. I use junk mail the best I found, stiff stuff. not lightwt.
or manila folders. dh brings them home form work for me. I glue the paper to the
wrong side of the fab, and cut out randomly, meaning not measuring about at least 1/4- 3/8"
and fold over and baste. sew together. when I get a row done, I sew tog, then take out paper
in the middle ones, and leave it in the outter ones till the next row is sewn down. I don't
measure anything, I just eyeball it. but I like more than 1/4" coz they get handeled a lot.
the glue doesn't leave any residue on the fabrics, it dries so quickly. good luck and hve some
    quilty fun.

Dwina, again, glad to see you here.

Lynnie-Sounds like you have the Hexie thing down to a science. I never wanted to try them as I am not good at math or measuring for reason. Which is weird because my job requires super accurate measurements.

Oh Dorothy, we'll miss you. Sure you can't come up with something uber-simple and still be a part? (Okay. I'll shut up now. Where IS that tape-over-the-mouth icon???)

Dwina, so glad that your FIL is doing better. Don't forget to fill out the new questionnaire and PM it to me.
I never thought about using freezer paper. That is a perfect solution. I have a whole roll of it from when I was making dolls. Also, I was just at Joanns and got the hexie punch. It was 40% off.

Dorothy, no mth at all. stick the hex in the middle of a small (about 2") sq of fab. nd stitch down. if you call or go to paper pieces.com. they will send you some paper pieces. call and ask for some. 5 sets will get you started. they even send you fabric to do them. I order them from time to time to give out when I teach people. I never knew it was so easy. no measuring no math, kinda mindless, it's good busy handwork. it's all up to you how you put it together. ask for a catalog when you order your samples, great ideas in their book and you can order different shapes from them too. it's the easiest form of quilting really it is. have fun with it. use up all your tiny scraps too.
I need to order more too to send with swaps. lotsa fun!
Dorothy, stop by and see us next month, you'll be missed.

I purchase the paper from paperpieces.com -- the paper can be used over & over again. And I purchase a bag of them in each size I want. I don't measure either -- I do my usual thing -- just eyeballing it! It's not necessary to cut away excess fabric, since you don't have to be exact. I then baste the hexies & iron them. That's pretty much it. My technique is somewhere between Dwina's & Lynnie's.

Pat -- nice pattern; I've never seen that one before!
