Roxanne, your brother doesn't happen to live near Fruita, Co, does he? They have a "George, the Headless Chicken" day there...I think that's the name...been a while since I've lived there...
Well they don't have a george , but had the little school kids dressed up as chicken legs one year! They live in Batesburg-Leesville S.C. Quaint little community. They live on main street which is only 3 block long.

I think I live to much of a city life..............they don't have crazy events where we celebrate the chicken...........

Me either! I'd go crazy in their little town. Shoot, they have to drive 30 miles shop for anything other than groceries.
Us city folk don't need a reason to party!

Dh and I have lived in MAJOR citys for the last 10 years... and moved a dozen times.
we moved back to the country last year and I am LOVING IT! even if Wmart is 70miles away :D :D :D
I miss the city life, but this sure feels nice too!

Our nearest Walmart is 2.5 hours away and we have to drive 35 - 45 miles for most shopping, but I love being a small town girl! I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for over a year and was glad to get out! Just goes to show quilting is a unifying activity. Country or city, quilting brings us together.
