oh okay! thanks! that makes sense....i am very excited for this!!!! and just to be sure--i assume our blocks all have an extra 1/2 inch for finishing later??? so like 6 1/2 by 6 1/2 for example?

That is correct raggedyann. You want to add the seam allowances to whatever size block you do

Oh, I know the answer to your question. A fussy cut is where you cut a specific part of your fabric out. Let's say there is an egg in the print of your fabric, you center your cut to include that egg in the piece you cut. See thru rulers help a lot here. Make sure your cut is big enough to leave enough room for your seam allowances on all four sides so you don't lose your subject. :-D

    Mariposa... you are so fast!!!

    PS: where is Quilted Heart?
Linda the Quilted Heart is in Pullman, Wa!

    Sandpat,
I am going with whatever colors. I like the brighter ones.
Whatever strikes my fancy for the moment!
I figure anything goes, and it will all work together in the end! :) Will be fun to see everyone's creations!

Thanks Sandpat. I just drew Swirligig up on a 8 x 11 size piece of paper and she changed attitudes a bit. Will have to see if I can tame her into cooperatin' with me. Chickens can have a mind of their own.

Our chickens think that the stuff just beyond their reach has got to be better than what they have at hand! Well, our cows do that too. Hmmm.... quilters don't do that do they... the next piece of new fabric must be better than all that they have in their stash at home. Hmmm

I have the designs of the chickens I want to do.............So tonight I decided to start going through my stash to pull funky fabric (this is not an easy chore)...................I finally realize I have no clue what a funky chicken looks like..........I've never done anything funky before.............this is going to be a real challenge..............
